Bar du Sotê by Chimay

This bar, housed under a 150m² marquee, will be the place to be.

Normally a quiet ice rink cafeteria, this bar bursts with excitement at the slightest opportunity thanks to its DJs, live bands, quizzes, etc.

A menu created by Tomasso Ravo will offer you something to nibble on or sip.

Parade

An unmissable end-of-year event in Malmedy, the Christmas Parade will once again wind its way through the streets of Malmedy with its floats and groups on Sunday 21 December from 6 p.m.

This is yet another opportunity to visit the Christmas Village before, during or after this magnificent free parade. The parade will, of course, pass right in front of the esplanade.

Sleigh

A wooden sleigh made by students at IND Malmedy will allow visitors to climb aboard and take photos in an Instagram-worthy setting alongside the famous Sotê.

Christmas tree contest

The primary schools in the municipality took part in a Christmas tree decoration competition. The trees are on display in the inner courtyard of the Malmundarium.

Music

The Malmedy region will be showcasing its talents over these five weeks. Every Friday evening, a DJ will set the party mood.

Every Saturday evening, a live band will perform in the marquee. Every Sunday afternoon, a parade will bring the market streets to life.

Child

Children are the centre of attention during this period. They can meet Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas in the Sotê's lair and take a family photo on the selfie sleigh.

Younger children can listen to the Christmas Sotê story, take part in activities with the “Pile” or personalise a Christmas bauble that will be hung on the trees in the market.

Antre du Sotê

A vaulted cellar located in the bowels of the old abbey will be the setting for storytelling, children's entertainment, and meetings with Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas.
